Legal framework for your booking with 4Drive Serbia

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of services provided by 4Drive Serbia. By completing a booking through our website, you accept these terms in full. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your reservation.
4Drive Serbia operates as a booking platform connecting customers with local vehicle rental companies in Serbia. We facilitate online reservations and process booking advance payments. The actual vehicle rental service is provided by the local rental company indicated in your booking voucher.
Each rental is subject to a separate rental agreement that you will sign directly with the rental company at the time of vehicle collection. The terms of that agreement, including insurance coverage, excess amounts, permitted use, and fuel policy, are detailed in your voucher and form part of the contract between you and the rental company.
We are not party to the rental agreement itself. Our role is limited to the booking process and initial payment handling. All operational matters - including vehicle handover, damage assessment, fuel records, and return procedures - are managed by the rental company.
When you complete a booking on our website, you receive a voucher containing all essential details: rental company name and contact information, vehicle make and model, collection and return locations, dates and times, insurance coverage terms, excess amount, permitted payment methods for the balance, and any additional services you have requested.
Upon vehicle collection, the rental company will ask you to sign a rental agreement. This document governs the actual rental period. The rental company will conduct a vehicle inspection with you, recording any existing damage on the agreement. You should carefully check the vehicle condition and ensure all noted damage is accurately documented.
The rental agreement will specify rules regarding permitted drivers, geographical restrictions, prohibited uses, fuel policy, and return conditions. You are legally bound by the terms of that agreement once signed. Any questions about the rental agreement should be directed to the rental company at the time of collection.
At the time of booking, you must pay a booking advance online using a credit or debit card. This advance is processed immediately and confirms your reservation. The amount of the advance is displayed during the booking process before you confirm.
The remaining balance is due when you collect the vehicle. The permitted payment methods for the balance depend on the specific vehicle you have booked and are clearly stated in your voucher. Options may include cash, debit card, or credit card, as specified by the rental company.
If you do not have a credit card and your voucher indicates one may be required, consider requesting a temporary limit increase on your debit card to meet any deposit requirements. Payment method requirements are determined by the individual vehicle booking, not by vehicle class or category.
Most rental companies require a security deposit at the time of vehicle collection. This deposit is typically held as a pre-authorisation or block on your card and is released after the vehicle is returned undamaged with a full fuel tank, subject to the rental company's inspection.
The deposit amount and the type of card accepted for the deposit vary depending on the specific vehicle booked. These details are provided in your voucher. The deposit is entirely separate from insurance coverage and excess amounts. Even with comprehensive insurance, a deposit is usually required.
If you select a vehicle offered with no deposit requirement, this means no card block or cash hold will be taken. However, this does not alter the insurance excess or your liability for damage. The rental company will still inspect the vehicle and you remain responsible for any damage up to the excess amount stated in your coverage terms.
All drivers must present a valid driving licence at vehicle collection. Foreign licences are accepted in Serbia, though an International Driving Permit is recommended. The licence must have been held for the minimum period specified in your voucher, typically at least one year.
You will also need to present a valid passport or national identity card and the payment card used for the booking advance. If you wish to add additional drivers, this must be arranged with the rental company at collection. Additional driver fees apply and are payable directly to the rental company.
Age restrictions apply and vary by vehicle type. Minimum age requirements and any young driver surcharges are specified during the booking process and in your voucher.
You must operate the vehicle in accordance with Serbian traffic law. Speed limits are 50 km/h in urban areas, 80 km/h on regional roads, and 120 km/h on motorways. An e-vignette is required for motorways and state roads and must be purchased online or at the border before use.
Cross-border travel to neighbouring countries is permitted only with written permission from the rental company. This permission must be arranged in advance, before you collect the vehicle. Additional fees and insurance requirements apply to cross-border travel. Travelling outside Serbia without written permission is a serious breach of the rental agreement and may void your insurance coverage.
The vehicle must be used only on paved public roads unless otherwise specified. Off-road driving, racing, and any illegal use are strictly prohibited. Smoking in the vehicle is typically not allowed. The rental agreement will detail all usage restrictions.
If you need to modify your booking dates, collection location, or vehicle type, contact us at [email protected] as soon as possible. Changes are subject to availability and may incur fees depending on how close the change is to your collection date.
Cancellation terms vary by booking and are specified during the reservation process. If you cancel within the permitted period, you may receive a full or partial refund of your advance payment. Cancellations made close to the collection date may result in forfeiture of the advance.
If you fail to collect the vehicle at the agreed time without prior notice, the rental company may cancel your booking and no refund will be provided. Late collection may also result in availability issues or additional fees.
Your liability for vehicle damage, theft, or third-party claims is limited to the excess amount specified in your insurance coverage terms. This excess applies per incident. You are responsible for paying the excess directly to the rental company in the event of damage or loss.
You are fully liable for traffic fines, parking penalties, toll charges, and any other violations incurred during the rental period. The rental company will forward any such charges to you, often with an administrative fee.
4Drive Serbia is not liable for any issues arising from the rental agreement itself, including vehicle breakdowns, accidents, delays, or disputes with the rental company. Our responsibility is limited to the accuracy of the booking information provided in your voucher. Any claims related to the rental must be directed to the rental company.
If you experience any issues during your rental, you should first contact the rental company directly using the contact details provided in your voucher. The rental company is responsible for resolving operational matters such as vehicle condition, roadside assistance, and return procedures.
If you are unable to resolve a complaint with the rental company, or if your complaint relates to the booking process itself, please contact us at [email protected]. We will investigate your complaint and work with the rental company to seek a resolution.
Complaints should be submitted in writing within 14 days of the end of your rental period. Please include your booking reference, voucher details, and a clear description of the issue along with any supporting evidence such as photographs or correspondence.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Serbia. Any disputes arising from or related to your booking or these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Serbia.
The rental agreement you sign with the local rental company is also governed by Serbian law. Vehicle operation within Serbia is subject to Serbian traffic regulations and enforcement.
